The minister for Justice "Michael Atkinson" the Attorney General had failed dismally in his role & as such the people must unite to DEMAND SOME LONG OVERDUE ACCOUNTABILITY.

• He has continued to attack minority groups in a pathetic attempt to be seen as tough on crime, rather than investigate crime;
• His legislation has attacked the fundamental rights to the presumption of innocence, equality before the law, & the hard fought freedoms of all South Aussies;
• His foul mouth has cost this state’s taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost court cases, including defamation against our judiciary.
• His arrogance has seen his ill-thought legislation deemed invalid by our courts of justice, again costing this state hundreds of thousands of taxpayer’s dollars.
• He continues to bad mouth the innocent under parliamentary privilege in a cowardly attempt to avoid public scrutiny, & avoid the legal consequences of his actions which denies those he attacks any right of reply.
• He has risked public & community safety by requesting our police services are used to stem dissent, harass the innocent & raise revenue rather than serve & protect the community.
• His description of those most in need of support has been more so of increasing separatism & racial hatred rather than his position dictates Justice = impartiality, fairness, just treatment & the quality of being just.

The Serious & Organised Crime Control Act is but only one of his many attacks on our hard-earned civil & human rights. He acts without regard to the law, justice & fair play. He has refused to heed the advice of those within the legal community, our civil & human rights experts, as if he doesn’t care.

Our hard-earned freedoms should include the right to remain silent, the right to workplace safety & security, & accountability for government & police services’ actions rather than association & minority group labelling should be all that warrants police & Government investigation.

A criminal is one who commits a crime & is found guilty in a court of law. It is not a crime to ride or own a motorcycle, wear black leather or associate with those of your choice.

A hoon is a label for someone who, by their actions, compromises road safety -- not someone who is a car or motor sports enthusiast.

The colour of one’s skin, or their clothing, does not make someone evil or a criminal as a consequence.

Workplace & community safety should not to be ignored in favour of the shiny dollar.

Even if we ignore the Attorney’s poor performance & his attacks on our rights & community safety, can any of us accept his undue cost to the state, totalling near half a million dollars this year alone?

If the people are to be held accountable for their actions, so should our Police & Government, yeah right! They are even refusing us, an Independent Commission Against Corruption?

I had an accountant in my home last night & she was telling me the National Australia Bank was trialling Muslim loans.

The bank buys the property, puts a mark-up on it, then gives the client an interest-free loan for the life of the loan.

How’s that?

If interest rates go to 10% or more, the only people who will benefit will be the Muslims. They are totally insulated from interest rate variations for the life of the loan.

The bank buys a property, applies a mark-up on the property & on-sells it interest-free.

Would be a whole lot cheaper than paying back 4 or 5 times the original value of the property.

Fascism is commonly confused with Nazism. 

Nazism is a political party platform that embraces a combination of a military dictatorship, socialism & fascism. It is not a government structure. Fascism is a government structure.

Simply stated, a fascist government always has one class of citizens that is considered superior (good) to another (bad) based upon race, creed or origin. It is possible to be both a republic & a fascist state. The preferred class lives in a republic while the oppressed class lives in a fascist state.

The disproportionate reporting by our media over the death of a young child of parents practicing homeopathy has once again given us insight that the medical profession, backed by the big pharmaceutical companies & government legislation, are attempting to control the health care industry.

Those two alternative health care practitioners are now facing a 10 year jail term because they did not follow orthodox standard health procedures.

The fact that the courts only imposed a 10 year sentence for murder, suggests to me that conventional medicine & procedures may have also had the same outcome.

How often do we hear that a conventional medical practitioner has been charged or jailed? Very seldom, because of horrendous cover-ups & the medical closed-house policies.

We are made aware that thousands of patients die in our hospitals every year as a direct result of malpractice & gross negligence. We have an obvious imbalance within the system. Why are we accepting those facts without discussion?

We must start questioning our authorities. If we do not, one never knows if one is next on their list. Every life is precious & unique, especially when the loss befalls someone close to you.

Whenever the subject of life & death crosses my mind, God always takes centre stage.

One of history’s greatest eliminators of human beings was Joseph Stalin. Here is one of his remarks that has been etched into my mind forever. "Kill one person & yes, it is murder; kill a million & it becomes a statistic". Is it possible that our government is thinking along the same lines? Sadly, all too many indicators point in that direction.

Let us now take a look at the circus created around cancer by the medical profession, with the support of the government.

Today, because of the religion of medicine, billions are spent on cure whilst little is spent on prevention. Radiation & chemotherapy are highly profitable. After all, oncologists have to make a decent living.

Cancer is a chronic, metabolic disease; it is not an infection disease. All the hard biochemical evidence points to the fact that cancer is a simple deficiency disease. For example, naturally-occurring vitamin B17, also known as Laetrile, has, since the early 1970s, been banned in Australia by government legislation due to pressure from the large pharmaceutical & chemical companies.

Why? Because you can’t turn a profit from a product we can all grow in our backyards.

Cancer-related deaths in Australia alone are approaching 50,000 annually. The majority of those deaths could have been avoided had the Australian population been able to obtain vitamin B17 freely. Taking the foregone conclusions into account, the legislation enabling this to be enacted were passed by both major political parties. We are all affected by cancer in one way or another, if it is not a family member, then it may be a friend or an acquaintance.

It constantly astounds me that in spite of

all this, the greater Australian population still supports & votes Liberal or Labor.

Humanity is a mixture of good & bad. However, there is ever-increasing evidence that this mixture is now tilting towards the negative.

To return our society to a more beneficial level, I suggest the adoption of the One Nation policies & objectives which protects the interest of all Australians.

ONE NATION will return illegal immigrants who do not qualify as refugees. A genuine refugee does not travel half way around the world to find a place they know is a soft touch, but goes to the first country available. The Emissions Trading Tax backed by Labor & flirted with by the Coalition will be the final nail in the coffin of Australian farmers & manufacturers & will push up prices. Clouds of smoke belching from chimneys shown in global warming documentaries have nothing to do with carbon dioxide as carbon dioxide is an invisible gas.
4. ONE NATION will cut immigration. We are short of water, the roads are clogged with traffic, the health system is overloaded, housing affordability is a fraction of what it was 25 years ago, there are tens of thousands of homeless, but they still want to bring in more migrants. If there is a shortage of skills, we can re-train the hundreds of thousands of unemployed Australians to have the skills we need. If immigration hadn't pushed up house prices, more young couples could afford to start a family & reverse the population decline. If migrants create jobs, why don't they send them to the countries with the highest unemployment?
5. ONE NATION is against the establishment of schools run by religious cults associated with terrorism.
6. ONE NATION will keep our flag & ONE NATION won't bring in a republic.
7. ONE NATION will bring back tariffs to protect our farmers, manufacturers & workers against cheap imports.

A radical plan to simplify the tax system could see millions of workers not having to file annual tax returns.

Treasury Secretary Ken Henry has unveiled a bold reform which could eventually be used by up to half of Australia's 12 million taxpayers, News Limited reports.

Dr Henry's reforms would result in taxpayers receiving a one-page summary from the Australian Tax Office (ATO) which would include a standard 'deduction' for necessary work expenses as well as salary details.

If taxpayers were happy with the ATO's calculation they could tick the form & lodge it via the internet & wait for the refund.

The move would save millions of taxpayers from having to lodge their returns through tax agents.

Dr Henry flagged the plan to simplify the tax system to a high level business audience last week.

He is scheduled to deliver his tax plan to the Rudd government by December.

The treasury boss has made it clear that Australia should replace a system that relies on more than 70 % of taxpayers using a tax agent.

This is what the Senate Standing Committee on Legal & Constitutional Affairs chaired by Sen. Bartnett & Crossin are trying to protect, in the two recent inquiries,

Judges who cannot confirm that they are validly appointed;

Judges who cannot recite their Oath of Office.

It's NO wonder that judicial decisions are an abuse of discretionary powers, & when used arbitrarily & capriciously, amounts to NO discretion, lacking in jurisdiction & violates laws all the way to the supreme law, the Australian Constitution.

Middleton J has now reserved his decision on VID 91/2009, a case based on basic human rights of every Australian to proper conduct & administration of law, of services & administration of law & services by Australian public servants.

Barnett & Crossin have now indicated that parliamentary inquiries are reserved for only certain types of people.

'We are the new right wing'. The first, legal, citizens' patrols have appeared on the streets of Italy.

Supporters say the patrols will enable ordinary people to help police carry out their role of protecting neighbourhoods. But opponents have argued the groups are no more than vigilantes, many of which are being set up in areas with high immigrant populations. The city of Messina is one place where they are thriving.

It is a landing point for the island of Sicily & starting point for the most controversial versions of these citizens' patrols. Here they are called the National Guard. Others have different names.

The National Guard claims to have around 2,500 members across Italy.

Like the others, it does not have powers of arrest, but the Guard does have a uniform which is as striking as the group itself. It consists of khaki shirts, black caps featuring an eagle insignia & an armband with a black sun wheel as a logo.

It is the clothing that has earned them comparisons with Mussolini's infamous black shirt volunteer militia which terrorised opponents in the 1930s & helped the fascist dictator maintain power.

The new group's uniforms are so provocative that at least one authority - in Milan - has placed them under investigation. But the inquiry into whether their uniforms contravene Italy's laws banning Nazi & fascist insignia has not stopped them beginning their patrols.

Maria Antonietta Cannizzaro is the Guard's leader in Sicily. With her fellow members, she marches around central Messina eliciting from passers-by a flurry of looks that range from bemused indifference to mild alarm.

During a break, Miss Cannizzaro volunteered her stark assessment of who is behind Italy's crime wave.

"It's immigrants," she said. "The majority of immigrants are drug dealers or prostitutes. It would be better for them to be in their country & helped there. It's useless for them to come here."

The foot soldier in heels said: "The streets in Italy are not safe, especially in big cities like Rome where people going home are getting attacked & raped". Her views on black & Jewish people would be actionable if printed here.

The Italian government insists these patrol groups are under control. It says they cannot act on their own: They must call in the police if they see trouble. Mobile phones, not jackboots, are supposed to be their weapon of choice.

One female shopper said: "I find them reassuring, I'm more secure with them." But another woman said: "I prefer the police to maintain law & order."

The National Guard is headed by Gaetano Saya, who, having promised to meet us in Messina, failed to show up. The closest we came to him was his video posted on YouTube.

Wearing the now-familiar militia-style shirt, but this time adorned with a photo of the Italian hero Garibaldi pinned to his chest, he addresses the camera for several animated minutes. It is, by turns, a combination of rage, finger pointing & calm, if simplistic, political & sociological analysis of life in Italy. It amounts to an exaltation of Italy as a place fit only for Italians. He is a patriot, not a fascist, he insists.

But in another video we saw, a more sinister side to this group is revealed. It is a shaky, handheld, recording of a meeting of the Guard. Towards the end a man stands up. Inexplicably, the camera turns sideways, but there's no mistaking what happens. The man makes a Nazi-style salute. His gesture is greeted with wild applause.

Opponents say entrusting security to citizens' patrols like the National Guard is a direct challenge to the rule of law. They include Jean Leonard Touadi, born in the Democratic Republic of Congo & now a member of Italy's parliament who serves on its Justice committee.

"These patrols are an abdication of the responsibility of government," he said. "You cannot privatise security...that is a dangerous path which could destroy democracy."

Italy's new citizens' patrols do not all look like the National Guard. Another branch, calling themselves Veneto Sicuro wear fluorescent jackets for visibility, not effect, we're told. They see themselves as true "ronde", a more benign Italian word for "patrol". The group look & feel unthreatening, a reassuring sight, even in a country where crime levels genuinely worry many Italians.

Unlike some of the groups, this one doesn't maintain official ties with some of Italy's right-wing political parties, the kind that hold the most muscular views on immigration, like the Northern League. The League is a vital coalition partner helping sustain the Prime minister, Silvio Berlusconi, in office, a role never more important than now, following Mr Berlusconi's troubled summer of alleged sex scandals that have threatened to undermine his hold on power. Some here believe Mr Berlusconi's acquiescence in the citizens patrol legislation was a price he had to pay for continued League support. Now he & Italy have got their citizens' patrols & they are being viewed in one of two ways: either as an understandable reaction from a responsive government keen to do the public’s bidding as it clamours for action on crime. Or, as a more cynical search for popularity, even though the groups may play into the hands of some who are anti-assimilation bigots, energised by the corrosive allure of intolerance, rather than the progressive forces of integration.

The Australia First Party has applied for registration as a Federal party. The application was made in Canberra on 2^nd October. The management committee of the party understands that there are many difficulties to be surmounted to achieve the formal registration, but is confident of ultimate success.

A crucial aim of the Australia First Party is to unite nationalists into a single party. Increasingly, Australian nationalist & patriotic people from the various groups in the field are re-organising themselves & many members are embracing the ideas of community organising & cultural defence. They are realising that electoral means to affect change are not enough. Many of these people are turning towards Australia First as the road forward.

The Australia First Party shall take advantage of the benefits of Federal registration & will certainly offer an electoral alternative & intervene in that process. However, the party became aware long ago that if it relied on electoral means alone, it would ultimately fail to build a mass movement & in the shorter term, fail to defend Australian workers, farmers, small business & other working people directly against the globalist economic & political order...It was Australia First that advanced the idea of a broad approach, the "three tier method": electoral activity, community action & cultural defence.

The application to register Australia First Party signals the need for greater activity on the part of all nationalists. Like the registration of the party, this will surely be achieved.

The eighth Sydney Forum was another success. From four states, an audience of just under 100 persons (over the two days), convened for this event.

The success of the Forum showed that this crucial force in the development of alternative & nationalist ideas & this centre for positive networking for our non-conformist side of politics – will continue & grow.

As usual, our MC, Welf Herfurth, & our organiser Jim Saleam, did their best to ensure the administration & organization of the event on the day; we must also thank David & Nicole for their zealous work in the lead-up to the Forum.

The speakers were also lively & entertaining. A DVD will be produced & offered for sale as soon as practicable. An American speaker, Andy Yoeman, from San Francisco BANA organisation, delivered two addresses of real interest & importance. He spoke of alternative methods of political attack with community organising & an aggressive, but clever, propaganda profile that uses the opposition’s foibles for advantage. He also answered many questions about the American regime & America’s present cultural, demographic & economic trends.

An additional feature of this year’s Forum was a debate on the matter of Australian identity. This drew a positive audience response & we feel a debate could be a feature of future forums.

This year, there was a novelty on the first day. While we were expecting a demonstration on the second day, we had a ‘surprise’ in that it came on the first, outside the Petersham RSL Club. The ‘Antifa’ (read: "anti-fascists") had located our venue from an easy ruse (one had paid for a ticket) & arrived before start-time with about 17 protesters & a couple of banners (something about smashing "Nazis"). They made a lot of noise before being moved on by police.

One significant ‘plus’ out of this nuisance was that a key libeller & inciter of violence against patriotic people, Andy Moran, a Melbourne-based leftist, was identified & photographed for the first time. Another ‘plus’ was that the protest blooded a few people who had not seen our politics challenged in this way.

The Forum brought together people as politically diverse as New Right Australia, Australia First Party, One Nation, National Anarchists, the music scene groups Volksfront & Blood & Honour & other independent people, including some who attended the Inverell Forum on a regular basis. The BBQ on day two was a great moment in getting all these folks to talk.

The Forum is a free speech event & we win by promoting it that way.

The Ninth Sydney Forum in 2010 will be bigger & brighter than ever.

As we reported, the Sydney Forum was demonstrated against. We can report too, that a speaking group reputedly to be "right wing" in character was also loudly demonstrated against 2 weeks ago, also in Sydney. We are now advised that similar demonstrations are very likely at some Australia First functions henceforward.

More than that! We are told that a new network is forming, based upon anarchists, certain Trotskyites (like the Solidarity group) & others. These people are making loud noises about physical confrontation. Readers would remember the ‘threats’ made by the Spartacist League as we reported to you a few weeks ago.

It is not clear at this stage what role is played by black-bag groups centred around characters like Matt Henderson & Andy Moran. It is likely they are stoking the rhetoric. One website published a list of prominent Australia First committee members & candidates & some public activists only a few days ago, seemingly to ‘instruct’ the idiots who the targets for campaigns etc might be.

What is very clear is this: Australia First is being conceived by some as challenge to the globalisers – & that we must be derailed.

Three Australians participated in the annual Flag Day demonstration & March in Wellington (New Zealand) on Saturday, 24^th October. Some 50 activists were present to mark the sixth Flag Day. The Flag Day was also celebrated in Christchurch where some 20 (mainly) young New Zealand nationalists demonstrated in the city centre.

Flag Day has been held since 2004 to remind Kiwis of their heritage now under challenge by mass immigration & multiculturalism.

The demonstration assembled at the Cenotaph & marched to the Seddon Statue outside the National Parliament where the New Zealand Flag was carried in numbers by the enthusiastic demonstrators. The first national flag of New Zealand (1834-40), sometimes also called the United Tribes Flag, also made its first appearance at Flag Day. This flag, both proposed to the Maori chiefs & then proudly employed by the British, is an attractive red, white & blue flag that features too – the Southern Cross. The Australians, so as to mark their ANZAC links with the Kiwi patriots, flew the Australian National Flag & the Eureka Flag.

The event was organised by the redoubtable National Front & brings together other Kiwi nationalist groups. At a meeting later in the day, all present resolved that the National Front will be the political party name that activists will strive to register for electoral purposes. The goal is to have the 500 members enrolled by the next Flag Day.

Documents obtained by The Courier Mail show truck drivers have been issued with infringement notices for "false or misleading" logbook entries based on the times produced by the RACQ's trip planner.

The website provides drivers with directions from one city or suburb to another, as well as the distance & travelling time.

The police practice has angered truckies & the RACQ, which says the planner is only a guide & was never intended as a tool for prosecution.

In one instance a driver recorded he travelled from Maryborough to Rockhampton in four hours – but a transport inspector noted the RACQ travel planner time for the distance was four hours & 46 minutes.

In another alleged "breach" the driver recorded his trip from Rockhampton to Gin Gin took 2hr 45 min – 28 minutes faster than the RACQ's guide.

Peter Schuback of the Australian Long Distance Owners & Drivers Association said the practice of using times from the trip planner to expose questionable logbook entries was illegal. "It's totally illegal & a breach of police powers & responsibilities," he said.

The RACQ has written letters of complaint to the Department of Transport & Main Roads & the Queensland Police Service. Spokesman Gary Fites said the RACQ trip planner was not an "evidentiary tool". "We've had it confirmed to us in a conversation with a police officer that they are using it, & we've seen enough documentation to satisfy us that they are," Mr Fites said. "It's designed as a useful guide to motorists, not as a tool for prosecution." He said the trip planner was prepared by MapData Sciences for the RACQ & any legal use of the information breached the terms & conditions.

"We've told the Department of Transport & Main Roads & Police it is of concern to us & we've asked them to stop doing it. We're now awaiting their response."

Queensland Transport claimed the inclusion of RACQ trip planner times on an official complaint sheet was an "administrative oversight".

Australia faces an influx of so-called refugees sailing to our shores. However, are these genuine refugees, or just more illegal immigrants seeking a better standard of living than what their own Third World country offers them?

The difference between a real refugee & an illegal immigrant:

• A real refugee is someone who suffers persecution, & thus flees to a neighbouring country;
• An illegal immigrant is someone who enters a country without a valid permit in order to live in a better economic climate.

Any person escaping persecution who flees to a neighbouring country is a refugee, but if they continue their

journey into, or bypass, a 3rd, 4th, or 5th country, seeking a better place to live, then they are nothing more than opportunistic economic immigrants. And, don’t be fooled by media parrots labelling them "asylum seekers". This is just one of their ploys. They are illegal immigrants!

The illegals that we have in our detention centres, as well as the swarm of others now heading for our shores, are nothing more than queue-jumpers. They are bypassing several countries to get here – because Australia has a good standard of living.

The fact that these Third Worlders have overpopulated & overused their own country’s resources is their own doing, & not the responsibility of Australians.

Nor do we have the sustainable living area, or the economic or social infrastructure, to handle this never-ending influx. The near "open borders" policy of the Lib/Lab/Green political caste to let these illegals into Australia will cause our way of life, culture, & identity to decline– & our fragile environment would be damaged beyond repair.

It’s time the dumping of alien Third Worlders into our country was stopped & we put our own people FIRST.

The Australia First Party will end the fake refugee racket – no ifs, no buts, - & redirect our resources to Aussies .

It is with great pleasure that we can announce to APP members & supporters that we have not only achieved the number of members required for registration in New South Wales for the council elections, but that the membership numbers needed was achieved some time ago, & we now have more than is required.

The registration of the party is a huge task which has been taken on by a few people, with the vision of creating a sensible Nationalist party that could reach out to ordinary Australians. This vision is being furthered by others who share similar goals.

On the heel of council registration will come federal registration, & then we can really start making an impact upon the electoral scene in Australia – all of which be part & parcel of changing the cultural attitudes of Australians, enabling them to stand up for their rights, be proud of who they are, & win back Australia!

Again & again APP nationalists are getting the word out in newspapers across Australia. Press releases from the national chairman, Andrew Phillips, are reflecting the increasing concern of ordinary Australians about the direction in which their nation is heading.

Patriots are encouraged to write to their local newspapers as well as the state & national media to place the nationalist viewpoint before all Australians.

Writing to newspapers is a good opportunity to point out the problems with Third World immigration (crime, housing prices, water shortages, job losses, Islamic extremism, Asianisation, etc), Multiculturalism (social divisions, cultural destruction, massive costs, etc), the failures of the existing political parties, as well as putting a nationalist perspective to the many other issues over which patriots need to fight the nation’s current political-economic-cultural establishment.

It is with great disappointment I read the news of the Nationals’ decision to drop any meaningful action to defend the interests of growers wanting to reinstate single-desk marketing.

The backflip from the declaration to re-establish the single desk in favour of warm, fuzzy words of support for growers (we know how you feel, just don’t expect us to help) is a slap in the face to regional Australians who have remained loyal to the National Party in the face of growing evidence that loyalty could be misplaced.

Even before the whole debate over the single-desk issue took off, culminating with the Rann government’s bullying of local barley growers to abandon their single desk, articles were published in papers such as the Stock Journal stating that consumers actually preferred dealing with a single entity because of accountability issues, ease of negotiation, improved dispute resolution & eradication of bureaucracy.

However, the Nationals are once again caught in the middle of their own split-personality disorder, desperately wishing to represent the interests of regional Australians & be an independent voice, yet also too scared to make a principled stand in the face of bullying from their Coalition partners.

It is time for the Nationals leadership to decide exactly what kind of party they intend to offer those of us in regional Australia.

The national chairman of the Australian Protectionist Party puts forward the case for a sensible & moderate system of tariff barriers in order to protect Australia’s economic foundations.

The recent tirade directed by Prime Minister Rudd against his union followers should leave little doubt as to his allegiances.

Concerned with the security of Australian jobs, unions recently put forward the suggestion that governments show preference for local producers when purchasing for their departments – only to be met with derision from our globalism-obsessed PM.

In his condemnation of the idea that Australian governments should use Australian taxes to support the industries that employ the Australians who pay the taxes, Rudd ridiculously asserted that such an idea would bring about the collapse of the world economy & blamed such behaviour for creating the Great Depression.

Conjuring the ‘protectionist bogeyman’, Rudd would have us believe that those supporting the idea of buying locally, supporting Australian primary producers, manufacturing workers & transport workers would also build a wall around the continent & refuse any imports whatsoever – a ridiculous suggestion.

It is an irrefutable fact that this country cannot produce everything & must import some goods, as is the case with every nation on earth. However, the implementation of a sensible & moderate system of tariffs along with a campaign to raise awareness of & support for a ‘buy Australian’ campaign has nothing to do with ‘isolationism’.

Governments should be leading the way in supporting our producers.

This can be done by:

• Purchasing locally wherever possible for government supplies;
• Buying directly from Australian farmers & manufacturers when supplying foreign aid in preference to millions in taxes handed directly to often inhumane & brutal regimes;
• Educating the general population of the benefits of buying locally.

It is time for Rudd to be honest with his constituents & not engage in economic scare mongering, confusing moderate protectionism with isolationism.

Citizens Electoral Council leader Craig Isherwood today accused Treasury Secretary Ken Henry of lying to the Australian people, by talking the economy up, & promising five decades of prosperity, when he knows it is about to come crashing down.

Dr Henry was questioned in a Senate estimates hearing on 21^st October by Senator Joyce about the implications for the Australian economy with a U.S. debt default, & Dr Henry refused to reply, saying it could alarm the community:

The year is 1907, over one hundred years ago....

US President Theodore Roosevelt's ideas on Immigrants & being an AMERICAN in 1907.

According to a news report, a certain private school in New York was recently faced with a unique problem. A number of 12-year-old girls were beginning to use lipstick & would put it on in the bathroom. That was fine, but after they put on their lipstick they would press their lips to the mirror leaving dozens of little lip prints.

Every night the maintenance man would remove them & the next day the girls would put them back.

Finally the principal decided that something had to be done. She called all the girls to the bathroom & met them there with the maintenance man. She explained that all these lip prints were causing a major problem for the custodian who had to clean the mirrors every night (you can just imagine the yawns from the little princesses).

To demonstrate how difficult it had been to clean the mirrors, she asked the maintenance man to show the girls how much effort was required.

He took out a long-handled squeegee, dipped it in the toilet, & cleaned the mirror with it. Since then, there have been no lip prints on the mirror.

There are teachers.... & then there are educators.

ASYLUM-SEEKERS at Christmas Island's immigration detention centre have begun attending Friday prayers with locals at the island's mosque, following requests from detainees & refugee advocates.

Each compound has a communal fridge, which the Department of Immigration says is kept stocked with items such as bread & juice.

The new contractor running the centre,

Serco, [has signed a $370m Australian Government deal]  has introduced three meal choices for lunch & dinner each day, including one vegetarian option. Dessert & fresh fruit are also provided after lunch & dinner.

Of the island's 1129 asylum-seekers, it is the 50 living in community detention who have the most freedom. They are mostly parents with young children, living in duplexes in the suburb of Poon

Saan. They receive visits from the Red Cross & money to run their households.

Adults in community detention each received $100 cash & $360 in store credit, which can be used at one of two local stores, administered by the Red Cross.

An asylum-seeker family of two adults & two children would receive $300 cash & $766 store credit each fortnight.  [That's over $500 per week with no rent, rates, electricity or mortgage to pay.  How many low-income Australian families have that much?]

60,000 people, through 300 charities, now accessing Foodbank in Queensland each week, general manager Ken McMillan is

beginning to hold his breath & cross his fingers.

McMillan says charities as far away as Hervey Bay are sending someone south weekly to collect food, as a new "working poor" emerges in the long queues.

Pastor David Patch, from the Brisbane Outreach Church in the middle-class suburb of Everton Park, agrees. He is now feeding 60 families a day - where three months ago, it was between 30 & 40.

 * They travel miles in the heat;

 * They don't get paid enough wages;
 * They do jobs that others won't do or are afraid to do;
 * They live in crowded conditions among a people who speak a different language;
 * They rarely see their families, & they face adversity all day ~ every day.

Doesn't it seem strange that many Labor & Liberals & Independents are willing to lavish all kinds of social benefits on illegals, but don't support our troops, & are even threatening to defund them?
